你所谓的大堡礁心型岛, 英文原名为 Heart Reef, 又称大堡礁之心, 或是爱心型珊瑚礁。
位于大堡礁海域中段偏南，圣灵群岛附近。
圣灵群岛中最有名的岛，莫过于两年前选大堡礁岛主的『哈密顿岛』。
哈密顿岛也是圣灵群岛中唯一一个有机场的岛，所以说，如果要去大堡礁之心，哈密顿岛会是一个很重要的入口。
从凯恩斯搭乘国内线航班至哈密顿岛，约1小时20分钟可到达；从布里斯班搭乘国内线航班至哈密顿岛，约1小时30分钟。
其实大堡之心并非岛屿，实际上它是一个珊瑚礁群，在海面下，由于意外的巧合，生长成爱心形状而闻名，是许多欧美知名人士，都梦想一探究竟的天人奇景。
大堡礁之心上面没有植物，水下的动物跟珊瑚倒是很多，因为是保护区，所以一班人无法在大堡礁之心周围浮潜，游泳，只能做水上飞机，或是直升飞机做空中的观光。
大堡礁之心的景色非常优美，颜色鲜艳的就像水彩画一样。
珊瑚礁的形状跟轮廓也很令人印象深刻，有机会一定要去体验一下。

大堡礁坐标：18°17′10〃S（南纬18度17分10秒） , 147°42′00〃E（东经147度42分）大堡礁（位于东岸的堡礁）编辑[dà pù jiāo] 大堡礁（英文：The Great Barrier Reef），是世界最大最长的珊瑚礁群，位于南半球，它纵贯于澳洲的东北沿海，北从，南到南回归线以南，绵延伸展共有2011公里，最宽处161公里。
有2900个大小珊瑚礁岛，非常特殊。
大堡礁的南端离海岸最远有241公里，北端较靠近，最近处离海岸仅16公里。
在落潮时，部分的珊瑚礁露出水面形成珊瑚岛。
在礁群与海岸之间是一条极方便的交通海路。
风平浪静时，游船在此间通过，船下连绵不断的多彩、多形的珊瑚景色，就成为吸引世界各地游客来猎奇观赏的最佳海底奇观。
1981年列入世界自然遗产名录。
2013年12月2日，昆州的研究人员表示，为了保护大堡礁珊瑚，将使用精子冷冻方法。
研究人员将用部分精子来帮助大堡礁的珊瑚恢复新生。
2015年收到了一份关于将大堡礁列入“危险”名单的建议草案。
6月下旬在德国大会上将给出草案的最终决定。
在过去的30年里，大堡礁失去了近50%的珊瑚，并正以越来越快的速度不断衰亡。
正考虑将大堡礁列入世界遗产保护“危险”名录，拯救这一的“国宝级”景观。

「心型礁」（Heart Reef）浮现在蓝绿色的海水中，是澳洲大堡礁众多稀奇古怪的自然地形之一。

Washed by the warm waters of the South-West Pacific Ocean the perfect environment is created for the world's largest system of coral reefs. The Great Barrier Reef is of such pristine condition that it was listed by the World Heritage Trust as a protected site and is therefore managed by the Great Barrier Reef Marine Authority to ensure that its beauty is maintained for many generations to come. Visitors in their thousands come to marvel at the spectacular sight seeing opportunities that is unique to our area. The Wet Tropics World Heritage listed Rainforest on one side and the Great Barrier Reef on the other. No other place in the world offers such ecological diversity so close to each other. Off the Cairns coastline are outer edge ribbon reefs which may be up to 25 kilometres long. This is the outer limits of the continental shoreline of prehistoric times. The ribbon reefs can be seen by taking one of the daily outer reef cruises offered by local operators. One of the best ways to view the reef is to take a low flying scenic flight over it, especially at low tide where you'll see the breadth and diversity of this great living wonder. The waters of the great barrier reef provide the world's busiest and most varied marine habitats. Marine life is in abundance. From the many species of coral to the sought after Black Marlin and all sizes and species of fish in-between. The varied colours of the reef's fish and other marine life will astound the visitor with colour combinations that artists haven't even dreamed of. It is the largest of the world’s 552 World Heritage Areas, covering 347,000 km There are more than 2800 catalogued reefs in the area. Although the reef stretches more than 2000 kilometres offshore from Queensland, it is only at Cape Tribulation, just north of Port Douglas that the reef comes right to the shore and meets the tropical rainforests of the Wet Tropics. The Reef has over 1000 islands which are easily accessible from North Queensland and coastal cities like Cairns and Port Douglas. The coral islands are very popular tourist attractions. Some even have varied vegetation including rainforest and are encircled by the coral reefs. You can enjoy year round activities on the great barrier reef. With the absence of the dreaded box jelly fish (the reef is free of this menace) and the mild winter temperatures, the scene is set for a perfect outing to the Great Barrier Reef.
