大家好我是我们初一（4）班的班长候选人之一。
拿破仑有句名言：“不想当将军的士兵不是好士兵”。
我认为，班长不只是个称号，不只是个光环，它背后有实质性的内容，与同学们息息相关。
所以，假若我当选，我不会让这个“长”成为一个虚名。
班长应该是架在老师与同学之间的一座桥梁，是老师的得力助手。
不过，我得先从自我做起，严格要求自己，起表率作用；其次，我会在任何时候、任何情况下，都能想同学们之所想，急同学们之所急，敢于坚持原则，敢于积极为同学们谋求正当的权益。
班长作为一个班集体的带头人物，我有能力处理好班级的各种事务。

As we can see today, environmentalists from different countries are making joint efforts to address the issue of global warming, economists are seeking solutions to financial crises that rage in a particular region but nonetheless cripple the world’s economy, and diplomats and politicians are getting together to discuss the issue of combating terrorism. Peace and prosperity has become a common goal that we are striving for all over the world. Underlying this mighty trend of globalization is the echo of E. M. In this interlinked world, there are no outsiders, for a disturbance in one place is likely to impact other parts of the globe. For decades, we have taken pride in being self-reliant, but now we realize the importance of participating in and contributing to a broader economic order. Like many young people my age in China, I want to see my country get prosperous and enjoying respect in the international community. But it seems to me that mere patriotism is not just enough. It is vitally important that we young people do more serious thinking and broaden our minds to bigger issues. And there might never be easy answers to those issues such as globalization, but to take them on and give them honest thinking is the first step to be prepared for both opportunities and challenges coming our way. And this is also one of the thoughts that came to me while preparing this speech. Thank you!和中国的许多同龄人一样，我期待着我的祖国变得繁荣，受到国际社会的尊重。
