今天我讲话的题目是“想成功，就要坚持”。
首先我想与大家分享一个有趣的故事：记得有一次，大哲学家苏格拉底对学生说：“今天咱们只学一件最简单也是最容易做的事：每人把胳膊尽量往前甩。
”说着，苏格拉底示范了一遍，“从今天开始，每天做300下，大家能做到吗
”学生们都笑了，这么简单的事，有什么做不到的
过了一个月，苏格拉底问学生们：“每天甩300下，哪些同学坚持了
”有90%的同学骄傲地举起了手。
又过了一个月，苏格拉底又问，这回，坚持下来的学生只剩下八成。
一年后，苏格拉底再一次问大家：“请告诉我，最简单的甩手运动，还有哪几位同学坚持了
”这时，整个教室里，只有一人举起了手。
这个学生就是后来成为古希腊另一位大哲学家的柏拉图。
这个小故事所蕴含的深刻含意是显而易见的。
法国伟大的启蒙思想家布封曾经说过：“天才就是长期的坚持不懈。
”我国著名的数学家华罗庚也曾说：“做学问，做研究工作，必须持之以恒。
”的确，我们干什么事，要取得成功，坚持不懈的努力和持之以恒的精神都是必不可少的。
古今中外，有多少这样的例子，巴尔扎克用如痴如狂的拼劲，每天奋笔疾书十六七个小时，即使累得手臂疼痛，双眼流泪，也不肯浪费一刻时间。
这就是他能够完成一部部巨作的原因。
他给我们的启示又是什么呢?我想，他给我们每个人注入了一股强大的精神力量，那就是明确目标，坚持不懈，终能成功
世间最容易的事是坚持，最难的事也是坚持。
说它容易，是因为只要愿意做，人人能做到，说它难，是因为真正能做到的，终究只是少数人。
坚持是一种信念，坚持是一种修养，坚持是一种高尚的品质。
而如今我们有些同学为了眼前利益，不做长远的打算，竟在考试中作弊，这种不合新海高中校风的做法，不仅让学校、老师蒙羞，也失去了检测自己的机会，而失去这次机会，就相当于放弃了自己，最终一事无成。
成功和失败之间往往只有一步之遥，想成功，就要坚持。
这是一个并不神秘的秘诀。
但只坚持勤奋，却选错了方向，则令人可悲。
“ 勤奋”不是只要存在就有价值，偏离了正确方向，方向错了，就是一列疾速列车脱了轨，你汗水也罢，泪水也罢，血水也罢，那个终点却是“可望”而“不可及”的了。
如果把坚持勤奋美化成点金石，以为无论何种腐朽经过它的点化都会变成神奇，殊不知这就像把一块石头变成一匹锦缎，把一束丝线攻成美玉，也许力道、方法都恰当，却选错了对象。
当困难，绊住你成功脚步的时候；当失败，挫伤你进取雄心的时候；当负担，压得你喘不过气的时候，不要退缩，不要放弃，一定要坚持下去，因为只有坚持不懈，才能通向成功

Our country’s dream is the revitalizationof our motherland and the realization of the four modernizations i.e.the modernizations of industry, agriculture, science and technology andnational defense. Actually it will take a dozen of years forus to get the great dream realized.As for the individuals, we all have different dreams. Some want to bescientists and some want to be teachers or doctors in the future. As to me,I want to be a writer when I graduate from the university. Writing canbecome a part of my life. Through writing, I can exchange ideas withothers, bringing to light the bright and dark sides of our society.Through reading the articles to be written by me, people can cultivatetheir temperaments and raise their social morality. To achieve my dream Iwill study hard, reading more books and broadening my views. As thesaying goes, “Where there is a will, there is a way”. 坚 持一个人会遇到许许多多的困难，可问题是坚持下去还是放弃。
可能很多人都会选择放弃。
可是放弃的人永远都会呆在别人的嘲笑当中，而坚持下去的人不管有没有成功，都会受到所有人的尊重。
《钢铁是怎样炼成的》讲述的就是这样一个故事：有一个叫保尔·柯察金的人出身贫寒，经常被人欺负。
但是他自强不息，信念坚定。
虽然后来病魔缠身。
但是他勇斗病残,百折不挠，奋斗到底，最终获得了成功。
体现出了保尔·柯察金命运的坎坷和坚持不懈的惊人毅力。
生活也有很多这样的例子，比如：在安徽广德的太极洞内，有一块状如卧兔的石头，石头正中有一个光滑圆润的小洞。
这个小洞是怎么形成的呢
原来在这块石头的上方，有水滴接连不断地从岩缝中滴落下来，而且总是滴在一个地方。
几百年过去了，几千年、几万年过去了……水滴锲而不舍，日滴月琢，终于滴穿了这块石头，成为今天太极洞内的一大奇观。
明代著名医学家李时珍，从小立志学医。
他翻山越岭，走遍了大半个中国，访名医，尝药草，经过二十几年的不懈努力，终于写成了药学巨著《本草纲目》。
美国发明家爱迪生，没有受过正规的教育，幼年就自谋生计，当小贩、服务员等。
但他迷恋于电学实验研究，毕生孜孜不倦，竟拥有白炽灯、留声机、碳粒电话筒、电影放映机等一千多项发明专利权
……我也有这样的经历:在一个星期天的傍晚，我推着自行车来到广场上学习骑车。
爸爸当我的教练，在旁边扶着我的肩膀保护我。
我的心“砰砰”地跳着。
刚开始因为我的平衡不好，骑着车摇摇晃晃、东倒西歪，像是喝醉了酒似的。
甚至因为只顾着看脚下，没发觉前方有根风筝线，被绊倒了。
我重重地摔在地上，膝盖都摔破了。
我不禁感叹：原来学骑车并不像我想象中那么简单呀
于是心里想打退堂鼓，就告诉爸爸我不想学了。
爸爸说：“别害怕，你要做一个真正的男子汉。
做任何事情都不能半途而废呀
”听了爸爸的话，我再次双手握紧车把，双脚踩上脚踏板，继续学骑自行车。
正当我平稳地向前行驶时，忽然听到爸爸惊呼起来：“儿子，你会骑车了
”这时我才发现爸爸的手不知什么时候松开了我的肩膀。
我兴奋不已——我终于学会骑车了。
水滴的力量是微不足道的，可是它目标专一，持之以恒，所以能把石块滴穿。
如果我们也能像水滴那样，还有什么事情做不成呢
我们知道，雨水是以很快的速度从高空落下来的，它的力量肯定比太极洞里的水滴大得多，但它却不能把石块滴穿。
这是什么原因呢
因为它没有专一的目标，也不能持之以恒。
人只要目标专一而不三心二意，持之以恒而不半途而废，就一定能够实现我们美好的梦想。
坚持就是胜利人生的道路中不免遇到许多困难和挫折，但是不用害怕，不用气馁，我们只要勇敢、坚强的面对困难和现实，困难于挫折都会离我们而去。
很多时候，我们不用战胜他人，只需要战胜自己
就如《假如给我三天光明》的海伦?凯勒，她从小就遭受失聪和失明的不幸，她不仅和常人一样读书、学习、考大学，还做出了超出常人的成就。
海伦?凯勒之所以有如此坚忍不拔的毅力，我觉得首先就是她战胜了自己，战胜了她内心的恐惧。
我们也要像海伦?凯勒一样，不光在学习上，无论做什么事都要有恒心，有毅力，有坚持不懈的奋斗精神

I don’t know what that dream is that you have, I don’t care how disappointing it might have been as you’ve been working toward that dream, but that dream that you’re holding in your mind, that it’s possible!Some of you already know, that it’s hard, it’s not easy, it’s hard changing your life. That in the process of working on your dreams you are going to incur a lot of disappointment, a lot of failure, a lot of pain. There are moments that you are going to doubt yourself. You said, God why is this happening to me? I’m just trying to take care of my family, trying to give them a good life, I’m not trying to steal or rob from anybody. Why does this have to happen to me. For those of you that have experienced some hardships – don’t give up on your dream.The rough times are gonna come, but they have not come to stay, they have come to pass. Greatness, is not this wonderful, esoteric, illusive, God like feature that only the special among can achieve. It’s something that truly exists, in all of us. It’s very important for you to believe that you are the one!Most people they raise a family, they earn a living and then they die. They stop growing, they stop working on themselves, they stop stretching, the stop pushing themselves. Then a lot of people like to complain but they don’t wanna do anything about their situation. And most people don’t work on their dreams – why?1. Is because of fear, fear of failure “what if things don’t work out“?2. Is fair of success “what if they do and I can’t handle it?”These are not risk takersYou have spent so much time with other people, you have spent so much time trying to get people to like you, you know other people more than you know yourself. You’ve studied them, you know about them, you want to hang out with them, you want to be just like them. You’ve invested so much time on them, you don’t know who you are. I challenge you to spend time by yourself.It’s necessary, that you get the losers out of your life, if you want to live your dream. But people who are running towards their dreams, life has a special kind of meaning. When you become the ‘right-person’, what you do is you start separating yourself from other people you begin to have a certain uniqueness, as long as you follow other people, as long as you are being a ‘copy-cat’, you will never ever be the best copy-cat in the world but you will be the best you can be!I challenge you to define your value.Everybody won’t see it, everybody won’t join you, everybody won’t have the vision…it’s necessary to know that you are an uncommon breed. It’s necessary that you align yourself with people and attract people into your business, who are hungry, people who are unstoppable and unreasonable, people who are refusing to live life just as it is and who want more!The people that are living their dreams are parting with winners, to attach themselves to the and the people who are living their dreams are the people that know that if it’s going to happen it’s up to them!If you want to be more successful, if you want to have and do stuff you never done before then I’m asking you to invest in you!Someones opinion of you does not have to become your reality.You don’t have to go through life being a victim.
