如何申请去国外做志愿者
需要什么条件
志愿者招募 在美国找机会很方便。
在线志愿者招募平台Volunteer Match(志愿配对)和Idealist(理想主义)发布各地招募信息，只需进行免费的简单注册即可查看信息或在线搜索。
此外，很多社工机构都有专门网站，在主页上点Volunteer(志愿者)链接即可。
我就是这样找到了中心的志愿者机会。
有人问我是如何知道当地有哪些社工机构的，尤其是若身处一个志愿招募信息不够发达或不网络化的地方。
我曾试过关注社工，自然就知道了一些本地社工机构。
另外，我研究生的实习督导曾建议我做本Resources Book (资源手册)，以收集社工机构信息。
手册内容是在上课和实习的过程中慢慢积累起来的，本意是助我更快更好的服务案主，但其实也为我找机会提供了线索。
听别的社工实习生说，美国教授常将制作资源手册作为课程作业。
志愿者选拔 招募志愿者仅仅是找到那些愿意为此付出时间的人，而选拔志愿者则是要从中找出拥有合适的技能、动机和激情的人，以匹配机构需要。
中心选拔直接与孩子接触的志愿者的过程繁琐严格，需一个甚至数个月才能完成所要求的全部内容。
任何一个环节不达标或未完成，都无法正式成为一名志愿者并最终取得服务资格。
第一步，纸质申请。
八个部分，长达12页。
(1)志愿机会清单：所需志愿者时间段、机构对志愿者的原则性要求(如对志愿者最低年龄限制16岁)。
(2)常规申请表：姓名、年龄、联系方式、、工作经历、爱好特长、服务兴趣等。
值得一提的是，美国的填表大多包括紧急联系人栏，以便出事时及时与当事人的家人或朋友取得联系。
(3)无犯罪历史自述：回答一系列诸如你是否犯过罪等是非题，徐公证人签字。
(4)申请人签字同意机构对自己做：需提供Social Security Number(社会安全号)或指纹。
据美国政府儿童保护部门规定，申请当与儿童直接接触的员工及志愿者均需通过。
5)两名推荐人：要求非家人。
(6)18岁以下申请人的父母或监护人的签名同意表。
(7)学生志愿者实习合同：中心规定学生在做满至少40小时的后才能得到实习证明。
(8)志愿服务的内容和要求。
第二步，Orientation(前期介绍会)。
介绍会每月只有两次机会，分别是周一晚上和周三早上。
会长一小时，是志愿者部主任(以下简称主任)与新申请人的首次会面。
主任有，副主任从事协助工作。
主任先播放了一段介绍中心的短片，有过去和现在居住在所内的孩子的文字、照片和讲话，表达他们对居住在此的感受、对工作人员和志愿者的感激和留恋之情，相当感人。
主任随后介绍了机构的历史和现状，重申了申请表里写的机构对志愿者的几条重要要求，会后大家递交纸质申请表并选择面试时间。
第三步，一对一面试。
面试在主任办公室进行，半小时至一小时。
主任问了很多问题，边听边做笔记，最后也给了我发问机会。
问题包括自我介绍、为什么想来中心做志愿者、最想做哪方面服务、是否有被虐待经历、计划未来何时间段服务，能否保证机构要求的最低志愿服务时长及如何保证、如何平衡志愿服务和别的事情等。
主任和蔼可亲，气氛友好轻松，但相信这些问题都是主任判断是否接纳新志愿者的关键。
第四步，特殊培训。
特殊培训每月仅一次机会，为某周六上午9到12点，共三小时。
主任随幻灯片做了口头阐述，并发了一本自制培训手册，首页是关于儿童的和谚语。
内页包括儿童发展不同年龄和表现的对应、发展迟缓的表现、机构对儿童提供的服务的详细内容、机构儿童生活时间表、志愿者服务流程、如何保证双方安全和健康、如何处理危机事件、不同单元和房间的具体规定、如何与儿童交流、志愿者对儿童重要性的体现等，以及最后一页对志愿者重要性的总结和肯定。
培训涵盖了手册的所有内容，除了主任讲解，还包括问答环节、、技巧练习和小组活动。
培训不含午餐，但提供矿泉水和饼干。
总之，申请过程复杂漫长，很考验耐心。
几次三番的见面占用了申请人不少时间，包括工作日、晚间甚至周末。
在我看来，这是一个自然筛选过程。
那种生活过于繁忙、不善安排时间的人，往往在前期申请过程中就半途而废，被自然淘汰。
所以中心最终录取的志愿者大多做到了所承诺的一周服务两小时+持续一年，最后离开的原因也往往是现实所迫，如搬家等。
志愿者管理 电子管理 主任通过中心的网上志愿者。
我获得正式服务资格后，通过电子邮件得到了用户名(我的)和密码。
我可在任何电脑上通过中心网站主页登入自己的志愿账户，看到需要志愿者的儿童单元和时间段，并通过这个平台预约和取消自己的服务时段。
这个平台还记录着我的服务总时间、年度服务时间，以及当前志愿者数量和所有志愿者服务总时间等信息。
我每次去中心服务时，要在入口处的触屏电脑上登入登出。
主任通过这个平台了解志愿者服务情况、进行后续跟踪。
电子管理使中心能为有需要的志愿者提供具体到秒的志愿服务时长证明，对美国人很有吸引力。
保持沟通 用来登记的电脑摆放在Volunteer Corner(志愿者角)，这是主任和我们沟通的一个方式。
小小的角落里有着丰富的内容：有免水洗手液，有今日签到志愿者名单，有本月过生日志愿者的姓名、生日和祝福，有志愿者服务年限光荣榜，有中心本月活动日历，有免费培训信息，有最新的儿童保护新闻和知识，还有孩子们做的介绍中心工作人员的访谈记录。
另外，主任贴心的放了几张铅笔和一些便签纸，既便于我们抄下志愿角的信息带回家，也便于我们给她留言。
有时主任会把需要让我们签字的文件放在志愿角，我们签好了放进大信封就可以了。
过几天就是情人节了，今天我在志愿角看到了孩子们送给志愿者的礼物，是放在简易花盆里的“花儿”。
其实是一只只大小长短不一的小手造型，十分别致可爱，甚至连平时的普通铅笔都换成了布满粉色桃心的情人节铅笔。
主任还在旁边放着一张贺词，写着“Roses are red，Violets are blue，Our Volunteers are the BEST， So take a ‘flower’ for you. Happy Valentine’s Day! – CCC Kids & Staff.(玫瑰是红的，紫罗兰是蓝的，我们的志愿者是最棒的!所以拿一朵给你的“花”吧!情人节快乐!)。
读来让人心里暖暖的，于是我挑了一只很小的花，因为我服务的孩子们年龄最小。
增强归属 中心为每一名志愿者都精心制作了写有志愿者姓名的胸牌，也存放在志愿角，供志愿者服务时佩戴。
服务年份短的志愿者是浅蓝色的塑料胸牌，写着Volunteer(志愿者)字样。
资深志愿者则是深蓝色的金属胸牌，写着Volunteer Specialist(专家级志愿者)，以示区分。
一方面是鼓励资深志愿者多年的服务，另一方面是激励新晋志愿者向“深蓝色”进军。
中心还制作了印有机构logo的T恤，有多种颜色可供选择，不过需自费购买。
中心未强制志愿者以此为工作服，不过很多志愿者来服务时都选择穿中心衫。
中心还常组织各种公益活动，增加志愿者的参与性与中心的趣味性。
最近的一次活动是步行筹款，类似于国内的“一个鸡蛋的暴走”。
隐私保护 中心建立了严格的隐私保护制度，不允许志愿者向孩子或员工询问有关孩子的背景或现状等隐私问题，更不允许志愿者接触包含孩子隐私的文件。
中心规定志愿者不得单独和孩子在一起，身边随时随地都得有至少一名正式员工。
同时，中心不允许员工向志愿者泄露孩子隐私。
中心清楚表明如果志愿者发现身边出现隐私泄露情况，有第一时间向其它员工和志愿者部主任举报的责任和义务。
违规后果是不得再留在志愿者或工作岗位。
中心严格禁止志愿者给孩子拍照或与孩子合影，并还在志愿者入口处安装了柜子。
志愿者入所前应把私人物品放于柜内，只把柜子钥匙带入所内。
健康保障 中心要求志愿者身体不适时不提供志愿服务，尤其是有可能患传染病时。
志愿者进入中心前需请前台接待员打开电子门。
接待员通过观察即对志愿者健康状况进行了简单初审，有明显不适者直接就被接待员请回家。
进入单元后，正式员工也随时在一旁督导志愿者工作，发现志愿者有不良健康状况时会及时请志愿者回家休息。
中心的健康保证是双向的，除了保护所内孩子之外，也保护志愿者本身。
比如，中心要求志愿者穿全包裹不露脚趾的鞋，以免在嬉戏时被孩子误伤。
中心配备多处免水洗手液和带洗手液的洗手台，还随处张贴着要求员工和志愿者洗手的图片和标语，并提供一次性手套。
中心不允许志愿者参与任何有血液接触的志愿工作，也不允许孕期女性提供直接照顾孩子的志愿服务。
服务连贯 在申请期间中心就明确要求志愿者郑重承诺每周至少服务两到两个半小时(即一班岗的时长)，至少持续一年。
中心列出了相关学术研究结果作为解释。
有些志愿者觉得这些所谓制度只是中心的一种美好希望，嘴上说说而已，但事实证明并非如此。
上周我在中心服务时，另一名志愿者说她住院了一段时间所以没来服务，结果收到了主任给她的电话和电邮，问她是否还计划继续做中心的志愿者，并表示如果她再不来服务的话就要将她从现役志愿者名录中除去了。
她惊讶的表示，“没想到还真的有人查看我们是否每周来了两小时!” 松弛有度 中心的志愿者管理让我感觉既科学化又人性化，可谓松紧结合。
涉及儿童安全和健康方面的原则性问题绝不让步，但在个人的特殊情况上又十分善解人意，给予志愿者一定的宽松空间。
前短时间我有家人从中国来美国探亲，因此我很难如往常般保证每周两小时的志愿服务。
我一边担心中心是否会把我除名，一边向主任试探，但她爽快表示“这个没问题”，于是我心安理得的缺席了一段时间。
显然，中心的善解人意的前提是志愿者对中心、主任以及自己当初承诺的尊重，得有请假(最好是提前)的意识。
