《飘》中女主人公思嘉·奥哈拉并不是传统观念的好女人，她有着迷人的外貌、聪慧的头脑、坚强的内心、果敢的行为。
同时，她也骄傲、贪婪、虚荣、追求实际，甚至曾经有过为了达到目的而不择手段，她渴望爱情，不顾一切世俗观念，勇敢地追求自己的爱。
但当感情和现实利益相冲突时，她毅然将经济需求放在首位。
