Of Henry James When I first came cross this book ,I had not thought that it is a love story .After finished this book ,I have sympathy for the main character--Catherine.She was born in a wealth family ,her father is a flourish person with elegance and wisdom.He proposes to himself to make the best of her.Catherine 'aunt ,Mrs .Penniman,take care of her in her grown time.When she is 20 years old ,a gentleman named Morris Townsend pursuits her .However ,her father looks deep in him with his experience and concludes that he is a selfish man who just care about his daughter 'money .Therefore, he against Catherine connecting him any more. During this time ,her aunt interferes in their relationship, helping Morris Townsend secretly. As time passes ,Catherine still has strong feeling for Morris Townsend and determines to engages with him ,ignore her father' will. Her father declares that she will not receive any money from him,of course Morris knows this news and he is disappointed that his dream falls apart ,he breaks up the engagement with Catherine. Catherine is heartbroken ,she has done all the things she can do.From them on ,she regulates her days upon a system of her own ,interested herself in charity organizations,hospitals and aid societies,she gains honor among people.Through all her life ,she does not get married ,her father has passed away.Morris comes back without any success,he wants to have her back.How much has her lived ,she has known whose the person he is.She refuses,picking up her piece of fancy work ,has seated herself with it again ---for life ,as it were. There is something common in our life ,Catherine has devoted all her life to this painful love ,she loves the wrong man,she has not efforts to love another person.This is a sensible story which touches me a lot.Something in this world can not be explained.Life teaches us everything.

After reading Black Beauty, I was touched deeply. “Always be good, so people will love you. Always work hard and do your best.” These were the words of Black Beauty’s mother to him when he was young. At that time, they lived with farmer Grey. But when Black Beauty grown up, this was sometimes difficult. Not everybody was as kind as farmer Grey. Even someone heart him. Ata last, Mr. Thorouhgood helped him and took him on his farm. It was Black Beauty’ last home.There were many thousands of horses or other animals at work. Some of them work for kind people, but some do not. The animals have to pull heavy things, and have to works for hours and hours. So what may we do now? I’m calling for helping animals. Protecting them in our best. Then, we’ll have a piece and wonderful world!

The Elephant Man is a story about a ugly man named Joseph Merrick written by Tim Vicary.Joseph Merrick was a person who was so ugly that others either laughed at him or were afraid of him.So he was not ill but he couldn't go to work either.But he was very happy in the last three years of his life.Where was his happiness from?He always kept the beautiful things in his mind.Even when he was kept in the cold and dark little room,he took his mother's picture with him because her mother was beautiful ,kind and the most important she smiled to him when he was a child.He was satisfied with what he have.Though he was so unfortunate,he never complained about the life and the fate.When some peole went to see him,he talked about the books with them happily.So more and more people were willing to visit him.It is not the appearence but the inside of one's charactor that desides weither he can live a happy life.

I. Robinson Crusoe’s courage and passionAlways, Robinson Crusoe was not satisfied with his status quo, like most of us. However, few of us have the courage to make any change. That’s why most of us can hardly make any progress. But once Robinson Cruose had a dream, nothing can impede him. Early at his teenager hood, he got the strong will to go to sea. Though, he might be well introduced, and had a prospect of raising his fortune by application and industry, with a life of ease and pleasure, if he chose to stay at his father’s house and his native country. Losing 2 of his 3 sons, Robinson’s father would certainly not allow his only beloved son going to sea and sufferings miseries. Being an obedient child, and due to the love of his father, Robinson was hesitant at once. But he finally chose the life he wanted and broke away from the life of ease and pleasures the 1st time.By the 2nd time he went to sea again, he was a rich and thriving man with a plantation in Brazil, leading a life of ease and pleasure. But he sailed again. He just couldn’t stop himself from going to sea, because that was his interest and the life he wanted. Any one who wants to succeed must have such passion on their jobs or careers as Robinson’s passion for going to sea. If they are not interested in their current jobs at all, they must take courage to stop wasting their time on such things, and focus on the right things. This is the foundation of achieving success.II. Robinson’s great creativity and working capacityRobinson is a man with great creativity and working capacity. He had spent more than 20 years on the isolated island. In order to survive, he ceaselessly thought about how to get enough food. During those years, Robinson learned to raise goats and plant plants. He also learned to make furniture by himself. When he left the island 28 years later, the island was much like a manor or an island country. Creativity and working capacity are especially important today. They are two criterions by which the employees’ performance is judged in most companies. People who don’t have little creativity and working capacity can hardly achieve great accomplishment.B. ShortcomingsNo body is perfect. Robinson also has shortcomings. Sometimes he was irresolute; He was not confident enough; He was fetishistic, although his belief had done him much good.Robinson was not born to be a successful man and a hero. He learned and gained as he grew. He was a coward when he encountered storm the 1st time. But he was brave enough when he struggled to landed on the isolate island. He was making progress.Robinson’s shortcomings were not too serious to impede him from achieving success. Every one has shortcomings. But once we know it’s a shortcoming we should try to overcome it. Only by this way we can improve ourselves.Robinson was the representative of the bourgeois of the 18th century. It was the time when bourgeois grew stronger and stronger. Defoe paid a tribute to bourgeois by creating such a rational, sturdy, clever, kind, and successful man.Robinson Crusoe is a lighthouse for the ambitious people. It’s also instructive for average people. After reading this book, we should know how to face up to life.
