[挫折理论] 有关挫折的系统的心理学阐释，包括挫折的含义、内容、形式、原因以及解决挫折的方法等。
属于动机理论范畴。
一般而言，挫折指个体在从事有目的的活动过程中，因客观或主观的原因而受到阻碍或干扰，知识动机不能实现，需要不能满足时的情绪体验。

威廉·佩恩英国斯图亚特王朝时期的一对同名父子，父亲是海军上将，在两次英荷战争中立有战功，儿子是宾夕法尼亚殖民地的开创者，崇尚自由和民主。
老威廉·佩恩（William Penn1621-1670），也翻译为威廉·宾，英国海军舰队司令，海军上将。
青年时代即在海军服役，第一次英荷战争中．任海军中将，后任舰队司令。
1654年指挥前往西印度群岛的远征军，第二次英荷战争期间任舰队司令。
小威廉·佩恩（William Penn 1644.10—1718），是北美殖民地时期的一位重要政治家、社会活动家，宾夕法尼亚殖民地的开拓者。
