文章引述消息人士的话说，此次国庆大阅兵在北京重点设了两个“阅兵村”，一个是位于京城北郊的昌平区大沙河畔的沙河机场，受阅的“徒步方队”在此训练。
另一个“阅兵村”位于京城东郊的通州，受阅的“车辆方队”在那里训练。
1984年时，沙河机场的阅兵村还是帐篷营地。
1999年大阅兵时，临时板房取代了“帐篷”，为受阅官兵提供了较为舒适的住所。
