这本《上帝掷骰子吗》可以算一本比较高端的科普读物，由作者在论坛的帖子集结而成，我很同意在本书的“序一”中清华的刘兵对此书的总体评价──“努力言说不可言说之事”。
是的，量子物理作为一门相对比较年轻的理论科学，其涉及到微观世界，与人们的日常生活没有很直接的联系，不像经典物理那样，一个万有引力用苹果的故事就可以说清楚大概，你怎样让人想象人们肉眼无法看清的世界或是肉眼无法企及的宇宙呢
所以作者确实在啃一块硬骨头，但是他很难得的做的不错，这本书应该来说对于有中学基本物理概念的读者都可以读懂大部分内容，就如我这样的读者。
虽然到后面那带有“唯心”色彩的人择理论，带有科幻色彩的平行宇宙理论让我无比惊讶，那超弦理论让我很难理解，但是大体上我还是了解了理论物理从建立至今的过程，同时伴随书中量子物理领域的每一个突破，我的大脑也会随之一阵兴奋。
正如副标题所说，这是一本量子物理的“史话”，它不是一本教科书，讲述的是一门科学的历史，又因为不是“历史”而是“史话”，所以，作者可以作些发挥，叙事不必过分严谨，这样的角度令作者言说这“不可言说之事”显得倒也颇为应手。
但凡涉及科学的读物，其严谨性总是值得关注的，特别是在科学常识上它是否有所谓的“硬伤”。
显然，作为一本科普读物，出现些科学上的不严谨是不可避免的，毕竟，如果用纯科学的严谨语言讲述科学知识很难让大众理解，而用生活化的语言讲述又往往表达的不够准确，所以从科普角度看，我认为值得在科学的严谨性上做出一定的牺牲，这可以看作科普的“成本”之一。
在这本书中，作者大量使用或是借鉴了很多类比的例子，这种方法对于读者理解很多概念显然是大有好处的，我不是量子物理学方面的专家，所以我没法对本书的科学严谨性做出判断。
看得出，作者对量子物理应该是非常熟悉的，加之该书的前身是论坛的帖子，已经经受了广大网友的鉴别和反馈，所以在成书时，科学的硬伤应该已经大大减少。
我认为这本书是成功的，尽管由于量子物理本身的抽象性和难度，作者不可避免的使用很多了霍金眼中会大大降低科普书销量的数学公式，但是总的来看在严谨性与可读性上取得了较好的平衡，我想能拿起这本在封面上就指明讲述量子物理历史的人，应该是对科学有兴趣的人，应该是有一定科学素养的人，所以一些数学公式应该不会吓跑他们。
本书厚度超过了300页，如今很多人恐怕连300页的小说都看不下去，更别说厚厚的一本科普书籍了。
所以，作者也在本书中插入了很多“饭后闲话”，讲述一些趣闻逸事，甚至如薛定谔的女友这样挺八卦的事，这就让读者在吸收了一通科学理论之后可以有些“课间休息”的时间。
本书讲述的是一段激动人心的科学历史，看的出作者对量子物理由衷的热爱，同时对这门科学的评价非常高。
另外，作者也显然有很广的阅读面，所以在写作时可以天南地北，信手拈来，充分利用其他领域的素材阐述科学。
作者对那些在量子物理界光耀千秋的科学家的崇敬溢于言表，而且对量子物理界的每一个突破都有着由衷的激动，这让他有时候会抒情过度，很多诗话的抒情让人读着有些别扭。
不过他很成功的一点就是在描写诸多科学家时，不是简单讲述他们的贡献而将其符号化，而是从各个角度阐述这些人的性格特征，让他们的形象跃然纸上。
如爱打赌的霍金，晚年倔强的爱因斯坦，宽厚的玻尔等等，而同时他抓住科学界的一切可以发挥出趣味性的地方发挥，如“薛定谔的猫”，“量子自杀”等等。
总之，作者尽可能用“与时俱进”的言说方式来向大家讲述一段大大改变人类发展的历史，一部科普作品的意义不应该单单在于普及科学知识，更大的作用还是在于激发大家对科学的兴趣，培养科学的态度，同时让公众认识到这些往往在幕后推动人类前进的科学英雄。
这些科学精英们本着探索的精神深入到更神奇的领域去探索宇宙运转的规律，他们最初的动机或许就是求知，自己也没有想到量子物理对世界的重大影响，就如当初很多科学家探索电的奥秘，却没有想到电的应用完全改变了人类的生活方式。
我们理应对他们的工作表示敬意，他们并不需要摇滚歌星般的疯狂崇拜，他们只希望得到大众的认同，更希望大众更多的支持科学的事业，让科学的火种绵延不绝。
《上帝掷骰子吗》是本成功的科普读物，从中我们也可以总结出成功科普读物的一些特点，他的作者无疑首先应该了解阐述的科学领域，但是不需要一定精通，就如教师在课堂讲课更关键的是他的表达能力。
作者应该有更广泛的兴趣，只有这样他才能够从更丰富的角度以公众能够接受的语言进行科学的普及。
这本书成功的向大家讲述了量子物理的一段历史，或许并不完全准确，但是我们毕竟可以知道这门科学的发展历程，我们毕竟了解了很多基本的量子物理理论，我们毕竟了解了大批伟大的科学家的事迹。
对于一本科普读物来说，这已经足够了。
